Eat Right and Heal Your Body

Be Health Conscious And Love Yourself To Wellness

When I was a teenager, I wanted to be a Dietitian. I unfortunately didn’t go down the official path to become certified and have a practice, but by the grace of God; there isn’t just one path to get to a destination. When I started the Sophisticated K YouTube channel back in January 2015, I shared many of my healthy smoothie recipes with the world, and I continue to do that to this day. One of my many life missions is to encourage people to look after their health, to eat well, to love and respect their bodies, inside and out. So today, I want to encourage you to eat a variety of fruits in the coming weeks. Try a few fruits you’ve never had before, have a fruit that you haven’t had for years and fall in love with it again. Make a fruit salad, blend up a smoothie and feast on a selection of fruits day after day.

Some of my absolute favourite fruits are Pineapple, Mango and Passion Fruit, Strawberries, Blackberries, Grapefruit and Cantaloupe. I went food shopping on Saturday and decided to get a Galia melon because I hadn't had it for a while.

Fruits are very hydrating! They are full of water and natural sugars, delicious flavours, clean energy and they will keep you cool whilst you consume and digest an abundance of nutrients, vitamins and minerals that your body so greatly needs.

As I started this blog, I mentioned that I wanted to be a Dietitian. I was about 14/15 years old and after asking my dad to buy me a smoothie maker, and making my own smoothies, I was very passionate about nutrition. I was educating myself about the foods that actually feed our bodies and I was incorporating those in my smoothies. Strawberries were a BIG part of most of my recipes. I wanted to go to university, I wanted to have a practice, like a surgery but things changed, went in a different direction and I didn't become a Dietitian. However, I took on the responsibility of inspiring and educating people a different way - K London on YouTube (formerly Sophisticated K). The amount of people I have inspired to be healthier and to incorporate smoothies, fruits and vegetables in their diets is incredible.

This topic reminded me of the theme of my book, Measures Of Purpose In Life. We ALL have a purpose! Some people go astray, some people fail to find theirs and others fulfill it perfectly. No matter what your purpose is and what age you are when you dig deep and find the treasure within, have faith and believe in yourself, because you can do it. One day I might get trained and certified to become a Dietitian because the motivation is still there. But going back to my main point, I’d love to know if you chose to eat different fruits this week and which ones you picked up in the supermarket. Leave a comment below, let's talk.

Be health conscious! Your body is your temple. Love it and Cherish it!
